One for the Books

I am ONE for the Books and this is where my thoughts are shared. I enjoy reading with a passion. I see no issue in getting whisked away into the pages for hours, days, weeks, months at a time! Reading is a huge part of my life.

I couldn't stop listening..

The Kitchen House - Kathleen Grissom, Bahni Turpin, Orlagh Cassidy

This book was engaging from start to finish. I listened to the audiobook. I'm fairly new to the audiobook world but this has been the best narration that I have heard thus far!. The novel is not the typical slave novel; it actually focuses on a little Irish indentured servant and her struggle to find her place. The characters in the novel seemed so real and at times, I couldn't stop listening. The plot kept my attention from the beginning. I can't say enough about this novel; just go read it! I cannot wait to read the sequel. I miss them, lol.

Wheeewwww....

The Kitchen House - Kathleen Grissom, Bahni Turpin, Orlagh Cassidy

Review coming soon...I have to gather my thoughts.

Reading progress update: I've read 19%.

Sycamore Row: A Novel (Jake Brigance) - John Grisham

So far, so good....as I'm reading it I keep imagining Matthew McConaughey as Jake

Back in business, baby!!!! There have been so many jaw dropping moments.  I don't want it to end.

Baby Come Back....

Y'all....my loan on Kitchen House expired and I am freaking out. I am now back in line for the audiobook but I'm #13!!! Ughhhhhhhh...this sucks-majorly.

Reading progress update: I've listened 180 out of 590 minutes.

This is so good! I cant stop listening.

I'm calling this one...DNF

My Name Is Lucy Barton: A Novel - Elizabeth Strout

I tried...I really tried...I'm not in the mood for this. It's too slow.  I need some action or rather Lucy Barton needs some action.  I made it halfway.  Maybe I'll try again later but for now this is not getting it.

Not a psychological Thriller

The Silent Wife - A.S.A. Harrison

They were just psycho...narcissists.The climax and the ending were very flat. Don't waste your time.

Reading progress update: I've read 61%.

The Nightingale - Kristin Hannah

So good.  I had to put it down to finish some homework but I can't stop thinking about it.  Although Isabelle's impetuous nature is aggravating me a little. Very touching and I definitely was not expecting what just happened. *clutches pearls* I will finish this book tonight; I have to.

4 Privet Drive

I want to reread the Harry Potter series before the new release..maybe I will do the audio books. Anybody willing to join me?

Reading progress update: I've listened 240 out of 326 minutes.

The Silent Wife - A.S.A. Harrison

Listen...it is some crazy shiggedy going on in this book. I literally screamed out loud a few times.I love these pyschological thrillers!

Cute and enjoyable...

Dollbaby: A Novel - Laura Lane McNeal

This was a cute and pleasurable novel. I knocked off a star because at times it just seemed a little too far fetched for me. It was a pleasurable and interesting read. There were several laugh out loud moments and some touching moments. Fannie was an interesting character and there was a bit of a twist at the end that I was not expecting. However, the ending had me like "Is that it?", which is why I knocked off another half star. Maybe I need to reread the ending.

Reading progress update: I've listened 45 out of 326 minutes.

The Silent Wife - A.S.A. Harrison

So I'm giving this a second try but this time I'm listening to the audio book. Why are some books better as audiobooks? This one is a little better as an audiobook, although the narrator is not that great...

She did not disappoint...

Secret Lives - Diane Chamberlain

Diane Chamberlain has done it again...once again another one of her novels that I could hardly put down. At first I did not like Eden but she started to grow on me... Full of twists but also believable and realistic. Come on, Lifetime pick up some of these novels and turn them into films!!!

Holy Shit!!

The Dinner - Herman Koch, Sam Garrett

This book was crazy!! It's not one of those books that's full of action but it is a mindF**k. The narrator was so unreliable, yet still he was interesting. I recommend this book but be prepared to not like anyone!! Old crazy ass family!! Except maybe Sergio...anyway I dont want to give away too much...check it out. Has anyone else read this? What'd you think?
